OOC: Technically, Maggot can fly. But for shorter periods. One round, that is, without fatiguing. It will take more time but alternating flying and gliding he can do quite a distance, I'd say. I think Maggot will try that, at least for scouting.
And in the night sky, the guards will probably think it a fairly large bat.

Bashnag offers little to the conversation about this tiny thing that several of the group seem to be fighting over, although his face has returned to its usual furrowed brow as he accepts the belt looking thing from Ullo with a small nod. As the group heads through the portal, he saunters as he carries his weight with an expression of "let's do this", grasping his morningstar firmly in his right paw and his left paw on the holstered light mace.

Route wise, his previous experiences in the area says route 2 is the better route, although the bullywugs may not be happy to see him, seeing as he was somewhat responsible for squishing some of them in previous combat when they crossed Master Karrthragoth.

OOC: Bashnag does have dark vision to 60ft, scent and a bonus to move silent, all of which will be useful for helping detect and evade patrols. He also has the morningstar equipped should we encounter any patrols.

A brief discussion on the merits of each route eventually culminates in the consensus of, we all hate Bullywugs, let's give them a driveby kicking since we're going that way. With that settled, the party press on along the southern bank, heading into the swampland. No stranger to the swamps, you begin stomping through for the second time this evening. Wet squelchy noises accompany each footstep along with that unique dank swamp odour, wet and fetid with a faint air of decay. Noses peeled for the telltale stank of frog, Ullo and Bashnag take the lead?

I'll take a survival check from the leader, the other can roll an assist if you want.

And everyone can roll the usual spot and listens.

Bashnah will be behind the leader, sniffing the air every so often to see if the bullywugs can be smelled, or anything else ahead of us (assuming the wind is against us).

OOC: Bashnag does have scent, but that only works if they are within range.

Ullo and Bashnag begin leading their smaller comrades through the treacherous swamps, pointing out dangerous patches of quicksand or mire that an unwary kobold (or goblin) could easily get sucked into. So keen are they on keeping their team safe that they spot what seems to be signs of a swamp gator up ahead and cautiously reroute their party to avoid making contact lest they rouse the creatures. Whether there was really a gator or not is anyone's guess, what is truly unfortunate is that while focused on avoiding gator territory, the pair accidentally lead the group directly past a hidden nest of hornets which Bashnag accidentally clubs with his mace as he tries to sweep some long grass aside. Hundreds of angry hornets swarm from the shattered nest and begin stinging...

Fortitude saves from everyone as they are assailed by angry hornets...
Ullo and Maggot were keen eyed enough to spot the incident as it was beginning and gain a +2 insight bonus on their save.
(anyone with a poison or venom immunity can autopass)

Kwelzucht and Bashnag, 9 damage as the hornets unleash their stings all over, leaving little itchy lumps and bumps in their wake.
Ullo, you manage to react in time to dodge a big cloud of them and quickly dip your hand into the swamp water to splash it up around you. It puts off most of the hornets but a few sneak through, 4 damage.

Blessed by Karrthragoth's might, Gnutmyx receives only minimal stings. Such mystery and definitely not anything to do with the smell. 4 damage. :P

Bashnag will flail his arms around trying to get the bees out of his face. He doesn't have a particular aversion to bees, but the buzzing is starting to trigger him slightly. He comes close to knocking Ullo on the head with a sideswipe, but narrowly manages to avoid clobbering him into the stinky surrounding swamp water.

"Bad, bad bad!"

Once the commotion has died down, Bashnag feels rather drained and exhausted from all of the stinging and exertion of his erratic arm movements. He'll activate his belt of healing to top up his vitality. Once that's done, he'll look at the group with a rather grimacing look before squaring his shoulders, putting his paws back on his weapons, and continuing off in the same direction.

OOC- what time is it now, and how long until we hit the bullywug encampment conglomeration?

Slightly slower on the uptake than Ullo, Maggot tries to emulate the lizardfolk's technique, only to splash the fetid swamp water into his own face and still get stung regardless.
He fights back a yelp as he spins to look daggers at Bashnag's back, the big bugbear already healing himself up. The sound of Kwelzucht's draconic cursing carries past his ears and he turns slightly to eye the sorcerer. He opens his mouth to speak but halts as his eyes go wide. Ullo has seen it too, a flash of blubbery green skin beyond the underbrush. Kwelzucht hears the noise, a wet sound of a webbed foot striking swamp mud. Bashnag and Gnutmyx I'm afraid, you are surprised.

I'll take initiatives from everyone. First round will be a surprise round for everyone except Gnutmyx and Bashnag. Will sort out a map soon, weekend is always a bit of a busy one for me.

Kwelzucht prepares to call upon his innate power to weaken his opponents.

The sorcerer readies a Magic Missile, empowered by metamagic (Fell Weaken) without increasing the casting time, to be cast when the enemies are in his sight.
