So yeah, the new forum still needs some work.

• Finalize the (sub)structure [add some text to forums and categories]
• Add the Baldur’s Gate avatar gallery
• Look into the possibilities for a dice roller Added a dice roller, thanks Grodech for pointing me in the right direction!
• Style is Proflat Black for now, but maybe look for a different one? No, Proflat Black is fine.
• Do something cool with the logo
• Added strikethrough tag
• Changed limit of avatars to 50 kb
• Added spoiler tag
• Look into image tag

If you have any requests, please post them here. I like to run a pretty clean forum, so it's easy to maintain. I prefer not to depend too much on third party stuff, in case they decide to stop updating their stuff. Buuuut... I will at least look into it, promise.

If I change something, I'll try to keep you updated on the changes in this topic.

I didn't check for new options yet, but... this one looks cool.

Is the 10kb limit for avatars here to stay, or just a default that needs to be tweaked?

I was able to slap my avatar around a bit to get it small enough without noticeable jpg artifacts, but there's likely many old avatars that won't fit with the new requirements.

Mine was 26kb when png. I can't remember what our old requirements were - probably wouldn't need more than 50kb? Or 32kb, or something.

I was curious, is there a setting that needs to be turned on so that I can use my own image as an Avatar? I can navigate to get to the place to select them, but I have only the option to delete the one I have (none), or select from two Baldurs Gate Boards. It's not a pressing issue, but one I believe is a permissions issue?

I think our permissions should be the same, but I also uploaded mine before the addition of the Baldur's Gate, so I might've slipped through the cracks.

Previously we had a spoiler function which was handy for keeping threads neat by allowing players to only expand out the info they need. Is this something that can be reinstated? Thanks. :)

Additionally, we had an image tag (not the img tag). It allowed posting of an automatically resized image that was also then clickable as a url to visit the full sized image. Useful for images that were big enough to stretch threads.

Oh and we also had a bbvideoplugin of some sort that would allow embedding of yt videos.

Interesting. The field where you can shift from Gallery to Upload wasn't there for me earlier. A loading glitch or something perhaps. I was missing part of that field. I can see it now though. Will deal with finding an avatar tonight.

Embedding YT videos can be nice to have, but like I said in my first post I'd like to run a clean forum. Not create too much dependency on plugins, so we'll see.

Do you folks have a rules list? The general golden rule is a given, but with the current economic and political climate, some forums are banning folks for mentioning that stuff. A clear cut "This isn't allowed" is likely a good idea to have somewhere.

I hope such rules aren't necessary. We are a roleplay gaming community, for us it should be mostly about gaming. If you want to really discuss politics, religion, racism, sexism or other hot topics, there's plenty of places on the internet where you can do this. But I'm pro free speech, so I won't say "this isn't allowed". I hope we're all adults and able to use common sense.

Are you going to reinstate me as an admin? No big deal if you don't want to, just want to see what your mindset was for any assistance. The amount of traffic has been low so far, so I'm sure you can handle it yourself.

Not too worried about the youtube plugin then Niilo, but I was using the spoilers one heavily.

As for rules. I'm also pro free speech but as a place to come together to play rpgs the prime function here is to make sure all are welcome to come and play, so don't do/say anything that would cause people to not want to do that. That's not to say we can't have a politics thread or even have a sensible discussion about racism, provided it's in a thread where it's clear that if you don't wanna be part of it, don't go in that thread. Such topics are obviously something that may come up when you're creating a world. One of the drow in my game used a made up racist slur against Grodech's character purposely to try get a rise out of her. How to do such things tastefully and without causing offence ooc is certainly a valid subject but such things need to be in a place where people know what they're in for.

Plus, being a small community I think most if not all of us can self regulate. A simple no from one's peers is usually enough to make someone realise they went over the line.
