Would it be possible to get a 'dark mode' theme? Not as the default, just one of the usercp options.

I think Proflat is fine, so something like this might not require much worrying over.

Yeah, one light and one dark style, no problem. Just remember... we use colours for our characters when 'speaking'. When you use the dark theme and others use a light theme, the colours you use might be harder to read for others and vice versa.

I will have to make the same adjustments to that style as I did with this one, so I'll let you know when it's ready. It won't take long.

Good point, and thanks for the reminder. I used a lot of bright shades on v1 because it was assumed it was black for everyone back then. I'll keep that in mind going forward here. Might have to find some good colours that work well on both.

I hope such rules aren't necessary. We are a roleplay gaming community, for us it should be mostly about gaming. If you want to really discuss politics, religion, racism, sexism or other hot topics, there's plenty of places on the internet where you can do this. But I'm pro free speech, so I won't say "this isn't allowed". I hope we're all adults and able to use common sense.
All agreed here, however, let's say folks want to open games, and because of the low user count ad's are placed on reddit for interested players. You get new users showing up, see no rules and they go nutty. Having a rules list pre-emptively for when this invariably occurs because a lot of people use the internet as a place to do random things to troll folks might be a good idea, right?

I think that'd be a first, posting ads for DnDGamer games on other sites - back when, the only place anyone would be able to drum up interest was other forums (MythWeavers etc) and those places would ban for simply mentioning 'competing' sites.

At the very least, a rule or community stance on posting links to DnDGamer on places like Reddit where it potentially could get a ton of attention would be a good idea. I'm not opposed to it, but I'd certainly like to know if that'd be a thing or not. I don't think we're exactly a closed community, but I think we've always kind of been a small group where everyone knows each other quite well, and most members were from wanderers or friends of friends.

Yeah most sites have a childish and selfish closed setup and ban for trying to cross recruit. Hence, places like Reddit's LFG sub is a place for people online to find games. If I run a game, I only do so when I have like 5-6 players due to the fact I custom build *everything* in my games. I don't open the bestiary and look up Bugbear, I build one organically. The time investment means I plan things in a way where it's just not worth running with less than that. Given the lack of users here, even if each of you wanted to join my game, I would still need to grab a couple folks.

If you folks want to grow this place, you need to weed the trolls out, the immature out, but you can drum up users via Reddit to join the site and grow it. Having an existing rule set would be needed though and be good to establish for lets face it, the inevitable instance someone is out of line. No community likes having a player just randomly banned or punished without a reason why, this creates resentment and dissent if you do something you didn't know was "bad" and get thrown out for being ignorant. Generational and cultural differences globally rub folks the wrong way and in internet land who knows where someone might be coming from.

Yeah - if you look at some of Gryndel's earlier G2 posts, it's horrible without a dark theme.

If someone is out of line, (s)he will get a clear warning from me. If it's really bad, waaay out of line, it's possible to get a ban straightaway, but that will never be without any reason or explanation. We are a gaming community first and foremost. It's okay to have a discussion about whatever you want, but if you're looking for a heated debate this is simply not the place to do so. We'll be fine if we mostly stick to gaming.

I ran a highly active Dutch Fantasy forum in the past for about 5 years. Even when you write rules down for people to follow, people will still be trying to find ways around those rules, believe me.

I only just noticed today that Tables don't seem to be functional. Not just the button missing, but I tried putting in the BBCode and they just don't seem to work. I never realized this was an add-on; I thought it was just default behaviour.

Will this see a return eventually? Its pretty handy for keeping character sheets clean, as well as for all manner of things.

Yeah, I agree. It might take a while though.

I'm in the business of digital educational content, so right now it's really busy for me at work with the start of the school year and all.

But yeah, you can expect that it will make a return.

Hadn't tried the site on mobile, as I only have bad memories of trying ages ago. However, it actually works really well now.

Only thing I've noticed is that dice rolls don't show up on mobile while logged out. Very small issue and not something I think we can even do anything about.
