Appearance
Astri dresses in drab traveling clothes, including a hooded dark green cloak. Her overall appearance and generally demeanor reminds one of a feral beast on the fringe of society, a wild thing, not quite barbaric but hardly civilized. An intricately entwined circlet of flowers and ivy crosses her forehead and encompasses the top of her head keeping the wild, curly, thick, light brown hair that falls below her shoulders in a barely controlled frame around a cute face with an infectious smile. She carries a spear, with a scimitar and a few pouches dangling from her belt. She appears well traveled and walks with a confident gait.
Background
Astri was born in a valley south of Broadrock where a small enclave of halflings and gnomes have created an isolated society, but she has spent most of her time in the wilderness around it. Her parents tried in vain to keep her at home, but even as a child she frequently took to wandering off into nature.
One day she met a strange human man who came to recognize her innate connection with nature and taught her the ways of the druid. After learning what she could from him she returned home, but an insatiable itch to see the world and wander its wondrous breadth continues to motivate her.
She adopted a puppy, which grew into a very large dog, a St. Bernard she named Champy. She trained him to be not only a steadfast companion but also a fierce mount for the diminutive druid. They have taken to patrolling the area around her home, looking for any threats and just enjoying nature in all its forms.
One day, when Astri was wandering around, she stumbled onto a goliath community in the mountains. She helped them by using her druidic abilities and skills, and befriended Thauvath while instilling some wanderlust in him.
A week or so after that she was collecting pretty stones from the river, kept following it downstream, and eventually came upon the woods near Broadrock. She liked it there and decided to stay a while, but got lonely so she went to get her friend to join her. Checking out the surrounding area they eventually came to Broadrock where the goliath earns some coin working and Astri earns some by hunting/gathering.
Personality
Easy going, happy and friendly most of the time, her ire is raised when anyone, or anything, abuses nature in extreme fashion. Though not strong physically, her quick wit, swift reactions, steely will and uncanny wisdom guide her actions most of the time. She can be frivolous at times, but is typically frugal. She has an easy way of associating with animals of all kinds, and views people as nothing more than complex animals. She loves flowering plants of all kinds, trees, and fungi. She has a habit of collecting pretty rocks and adores gems.
